WATER BLESSINGS
Ensconced within the emerald green gardens of COMO Shambhala Estate lies The Source — an ancient spring of holy water just footsteps from the Ayung River. You’ll cleanse in the mineral-rich water of the spring and with this, you are considered new, and clean in mind and soul. The Source also feeds the heated Vitality Pool in the Estate, where those looking for physical restoration can participate in hydrotherapy circuits and joint-mobilisation massages to reduce pain and tension.

ISLAND RITUALS
At COMO Shambhala Laucala Island, baths are elevated beyond habit. Settle into an outdoor bathtub overlooking the ocean — our Coconut Bath uses the fresh milk of coconuts collected from the property to nourish skin, leaving it plump and smooth. A soak in the Senikau Bath (which means ‘blossom’ in Fijian) cradles you in a lush array of tropical flowers, and is said to symbolise the flourishing of life and a realignment with what’s important.

TRADITIONS MADE NEW
Hay bathing is a time-honoured tradition in South Tyrol — it originated from the farmers’ habit of resting their weary muscles in freshly-mown mountain hay. At COMO Shambhala Alpina Dolomites, this tradition continues. Herbal plants in the mountain hay bath release a pleasant balsamic scent that soothes mind and body, while the warming effect loosens tight muscles and weary joints. This treatment is accompanied by a 30-minute facial using local products.

HOT STONE BATHS
One of the ancient names for Bhutan is menjung, which means the ‘Land of Medicinal Herbs’. Hot stone baths are a form of traditional Bhutanese medicine used to ease conditions like joint pain and arthritis — heated river stones are placed in water, releasing minerals that soothe the body with the therapeutic effects of artemisia leaves and pink Himalayan salt. Available at both COMO Shambhala Uma Paro and Uma Punakha, the session concludes with our signature massage to work out any remaining tension.

COLD THERAPY PLUNGE
Using cold water immersion to improve wellbeing dates back thousands of years to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks. Now used to enhance post-exercise recovery, ice baths introduce fresh, oxygenated blood to the organs, reduces inflammation, and flushes out lactic acid waste from the body. Recovery time after a workout can be reduced from days to hours, and you’ll experience an improvement in mood and sleep quality.
